The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) is a supporting partner for the MIM-ARM CSR Manager Programmes as part of their Sustainable Development intiatives in Malaysia.
KAS's international activities aim to support democracy, the rule of law and respect for human rights whilst at the same time furthering mutual understanding, respect, appreciation and cooperation between different nations, cultures, ethnic groups and religions. Our approach promotes a uniquely German concept of the the social market economy, which is a holistic view of a sustainable economy encompassing well-balanced economic, social, ecolgical and ethical development. It provides assistance for self-help in development, fighting the causes of poverty and ecouraging envrionmental protection.
The activities of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in Malaysia focus on economic cooperation, rural and community development as well as civic education. For this purpose the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung cooperates with Malaysian organisations either on a long term basis for about six years or teams up with a local institution for a specific purpose such as a conference or research study.
The first programme in Malaysia was undertaken in 1977. More than 15 years later, the Foundation supports each year about 40 conferences, seminars and workshops of its Malaysian partners alone. In addition it publishes books and journals, awards scholarships and organises study tours of Germany.
Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry
The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ADCCI) is a supporting partner for the UAECSR-ARM CSR Manager Programmes as part of the National CSR Development Programme of the United Arab Emirates.
The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry is an autonomous legal entity which represents manufacturing and services activities of the private sector in Abu Dhabi Emirate. The Chamber's legal status requires all organisations with commercial, industrial, vocational or professional activity in the Emirate to join the Chamber which is the official institution concerned with regulation of commercial activities of the private sector. Chamber members can participate in various domestic and international functions or events to promote their companies or products and to communicate to the Chamber any problems and the obstacles they are facing to find appropriate solutions.
Since its inception in 1969 the Chamber has been active in developing economic law and legislation that regulates the economic and business environment in the Emirate. As a member of the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry, the Chamber plays a significant role in discussing and drafting such laws and regulations at the UAE level. The Chamber's presence in the international arena has been gradually expanded through multi-membership in many Arab and world chamber counterparts. The Chamber has joined the Arab-French, the Arab-Swiss, the Arab-American, the Arab-Belgian, the Arab Luxembourg and the Arab-German Chambers of Commerce & Industry.
The Chamber also has a branch office in Al-Ain City which meets the demands of the business community in Al-Ain Emirate and offers them whatever services or information they need. The Chamber has its own web site through which it provides help and information required by the business community in Abu Dhabi and the UAE at large.
